South Korean game developer Nanali Studios raises KRW 1 billion in pre-Series A funding

Nanali Studios, the developer of the idle healing game “Forest Island” which has surpassed 3 million downloads, has raised KRW 1 billion in pre-Series A funding.
The investment was led by Laguna Investment and co-led by Kona Venture Partners. With this investment, Nanali Studios plans to enhance the service of its current game “Forest Island” and increase the chances of success for its new game.
Nanali Studios has a strong track record of launching a variety of platform games, including “Sally’s Law” which won the Best Developer Award at the 1st Google Indie Game Festival and was widely recognized for its artistry, and “Flip the Frog” which has recorded 3 million downloads. The company also has experience and expertise in achieving actual sales results.
Nanali Studios’ flagship idle healing game “Forest Island” has a rating of 4.7 on Google Play and the App Store. It is characterized by its relaxing mode, where players can enjoy ASMR sounds such as wind and waves. The game has been selected as the “Game of the Day,” “iPhone Essential Game,” and “Popular Game” on the App Store, and the “Recommended Game of the Week” on Google Play. It also won the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award for the “Functional Game” category of the “Game of the Month” in the second half of 2022.
Currently, over 90% of the company’s revenue comes from overseas sales. The game is loved by users in various markets, including the United States, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Canada, and Europe. It is a global game with the United States iOS market as its main market.
