Korean Startup Consalad’s ‘Joody’ Secures Pre-Series A Investment for Expansion

Korean startup Consalad Inc. has received pre-Series A investment from New Paradigm Investment for its 2D dot-based avatar social mobile game, “Joody.”
Launched in June 2021, Consalad’s “Joody” allows users to create and customize their 2D dot-based slime avatars. Following a significant update in April, the game experienced substantial growth, turning profitable in June with over 110,000 registered users.
Users have actively engaged in the game, crafting more than 157,371 slime avatars, participating in 53,378 contests, and spending an average of 58 minutes per session.
“Joody” caters to Gen Z and Alpha female users, offering a relaxing and casual simulation game experience centered on user identity expression through slime avatars, contests, mini-games, and social networking.
The investment will be directed toward enhancing user-generated content features, developing powerful pixel editing tools, and facilitating a user-driven game creation environment.
Furthermore, Consalad plans to expand into the Japanese market, aiming to build a comprehensive brand by creating a range of genre games based on the “Joody” IP. This strategic move is expected to provide significant growth opportunities and a global presence for the “Joody” content universe.
