RealDraw Secures SpringCamp Investment for Webtoon Innovation

RealDraw, a Korean-based startup specializing in AI-driven webtoon creation, has secured additional pre-Series A investment from SpringCamp. Just two months after successfully attracting 2.2 billion KRW in pre-Series A funding led by Altos Ventures, RealDraw has now received further investment from SpringCamp.

With this milestone achieved, RealDraw plans to officially launch webtoons this year, leveraging its in-house AI webtoon production technology.

Looking ahead, RealDraw plans to focus on creating large-scale works that were previously unexplored, utilizing AI and 3D technology. They also intend to collaborate with well-known authors and undertake remakes of past hits and validated IP. This strategic approach aims to position RealDraw as a key player in the global market.

Son Kyun-woo, Director of SpringCamp, expressed the rationale behind their investment, stating, “The webtoon market is undergoing significant global growth, and Korea is leading in one of the few areas where it excels globally. We decided to invest in RealDraw due to their deep understanding of the webtoon ecosystem. Their ability to combine this knowledge with AI allows them to efficiently produce high-quality webtoons at a faster pace and lower cost.”

RealDraw’s CEO, Choi Sang-kyu, emphasized the significance of the recent investment, saying, “With this funding, RealDraw is now well-prepared to venture into the global webtoon market. Our plan is to establish a production environment that enables webtoon artists to concentrate on storytelling and direction, facilitated by the use of AI and 3D technology. We aim to deliver high-quality works that meet the heightened expectations of readers in the market.”
