Korea’s Angelswing Wins Top Tech Award at LEAP 2024 in Saudi Arabia

Angelswing, a global construction technology (con-tech) company from South Korea, secured the first place in the ‘Technology for Humanity Award’ at the ‘Rocket Fuel Startup Pitch Competition.’ This competition was part of the ‘LEAP 2024‘ exhibition held in Saudi Arabia.‘LEAP 2024’ stands as the world’s most-attended global IT exhibition, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from April 4th to 7th.
Organized under the guidance of the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), a Saudi government initiative for startup development, the competition saw participation from a total of 2,500 startups. Among these, Angelswing was named as one of the 12 finalists and ultimately clinched the first place in the ‘Tech for Humanity Award’ during the final contest, winning a prize of 150,000 USD (approximately 200 million KRW).
In the final contest, Angelswing laid out its vision for the technological and business expansion aimed at enhancing the safety and disaster response capabilities of smart cities, moving beyond merely smart construction. Park Wonyong, the CEO of Angelswing, captivated the judges with a business model that leveraged reality-based digital twin technology, emphasizing real-time and automation, to realize the value of social impact.
Angelswing, recognized for its pioneering technology in digital twins and con-tech through the use of drones, focuses on digitizing Saudi Arabia’s giga/mega construction projects and enhancing the efficiency of on-site operations.
Last year, the company was awarded first place in the startup competition category at ‘Biban,’ the largest startup exhibition in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, by signing MOUs with various government entities, including the Saudi Investment Ministry, Angelswing has not only proven the superiority of Korean technology companies but is also actively expanding its business presence.
