JAGALCHI OJIMAE Brand Gains Seed Funding for Local Snack Expansion
The FNB startup NOSHPROJECT, based in Busan, South Korea, has successfully secured a seed investment of KRW 100 million from the Corporate Small Business Private Investment Fund led by the accelerator Collz Dynamics.
Specializing in local startups, Collz Dynamics recently established the Corporate Small Business Private Investment Fund to foster the growth of small businesses and stimulate the local economy, while also considering additional investments in NOSHPROJECT.
NOSHPROJECT has introduced three snack brands under the name ‘JAGALCHI OJIMAE,’ featuring products such as dried fish, squid, and fish jerky. The brand draws inspiration from the stories of vendors at Busan’s Jagalchi Market, showcasing five ‘Jagalchi Ajumma’ characters striding confidently, as part of an innovative marketing strategy. The company aims to achieve KRW 500 million in sales this year, with a goal of KRW 3 billion by 2025.
Kang Jong-su, co-CEO of Collz Dynamics, remarked, “In the JAGALCHI OJIMAE brand, we saw the creativity and potential for growth of local creators. We are hopeful that this investment will serve as a successful case of enhancing the value and corporate development of local brands.”
Kang Da-yoon, CEO of NOSHPROJECT, expressed, “Thanks to this investment, we now have the opportunity to elevate the JAGALCHI OJIMAE brand into a premium local snack brand. We plan to continue improving our market competitiveness with distinctive products that leverage local specialties.”
