PowerCubeSemi Secures 8 Billion KRW in Series C Funding to Expand Power Semiconductor Product Line

PowerCubeSemi, a Korean startup specializing in power semiconductors, has successfully raised 8 billion KRW in its Series C funding round. New investors in this round include Hana Ventures, Albatross Investment, Nautic Investment, and KC. This funding comes 20 months after securing approximately 4 billion KRW in a Series B round in November 2022.

Founded in 2013, PowerCubeSemi has become a leader in power semiconductor technology, being the first in the world to secure design capabilities for three product lines: silicon carbide (SiC), silicon (Si), and gallium oxide (Ga2O3). The company has begun supplying its proprietary power semiconductors to major automakers, with their performance already validated.

With this latest investment, PowerCubeSemi plans to establish its own silicon carbide (SiC) post-processing line and expand its entire gallium oxide (Ga2O3) processing line. The company also aims to enhance its products and actively recruit specialized talent. These efforts will bolster its global sales efforts in countries including China, Canada, the USA, Japan, and Vietnam.

Tae-Young Kang, CEO of PowerCubeSemi, expressed his gratitude to the investors, stating, “We are deeply thankful to all the investors for their support. We will strive to achieve our goals step by step and become a national leader in power semiconductors.”

Additionally, PowerCubeSemi has selected Hana Securities and BNK Securities as co-lead managers to prepare for its KOSDAQ technology special listing, having already obtained an A grade in the preliminary technology evaluation.
