Toonimotion Corp., a Korean company specializing in animation and content production, announced on the 30th that it has secured new investment from Gongmyeong Partners. The investment amount is undisclosed.
This investment agreement was based on the successful results of the recent 7th Gongmyeongjeon. Gongmyeongjeon is an investment program designed to discover and match projects with creative and innovative ideas from companies and entrepreneurs with investors. It involves a competition where angel investors vote to select the startup with the highest votes. At the 7th Gongmyeongjeon, Toonimotion gained significant attention and won the most votes by showcasing its unique animation production techniques utilizing webtoon resources.
Toonimotion focuses on producing animation content based on popular domestic webtoon IPs. Recently, it produced “The Adventures of a Demon King’s Daughter” (original work by Eunmin, Yeoul, Storywiz), which has started services on various platform channels like TVING, WAVVE, WATCHA, Laftel, and KakaoPage, as well as on the three major IPTV providers (SK Broadband Btv, KT Genie TV, LG U+tv).
The series has also launched in Singapore and China, accelerating its expansion into the global market. Additionally, Toonimotion is smoothly producing animations for other popular webtoon IPs such as “Robber x Lover” and “The Princess Blooms as a Crazy Flower.”
Cho Kyu-seok, CEO of Toonimotion, said, “We are very pleased that the positive response from Gongmyeongjeon led to this investment agreement. We will use this investment to enhance our content production capabilities and expand our presence in the global market.”
