PETABREW Secures Seed Funding for Eco-Friendly Radar-Based Sensors
PETABREW, a South Korea-based company specializing in radar and intelligent sensors, has received seed investment from Hanyang University Holdings (HYU Holdings) and has been selected for the TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Startups) program.
In response to the growing emphasis on eco-friendly energy, PETABREW has developed core technology and measurement solutions for LNG level transmitters. These products use high-frequency radar-based non-contact sensors to precisely measure low-dielectric materials. A level transmitter measures the height, depth, or level of liquids or solids and converts this measurement into an electrical signal.
While there has been a strong demand for domestically-produced eco-friendly radar level transmitters, the market has faced challenges due to the difficulty of measuring eco-friendly materials, rigorous certification processes, and high development costs. PETABREW has successfully addressed these challenges by meeting performance standards in comparisons with top international products and collaborating with a leading maritime level measurement company over the past three years. The company’s products are designed to be cost-effective and easy to maintain, enhancing their market competitiveness.
PETABREW attracted significant interest through a demonstration of Korea’s first LNG level transmitter, with numerous industry leaders, including the top three Korean shipbuilders, showing keen interest and inquiring about its practical applications. The company is actively promoting its technology and seeking business opportunities at both domestic and international trade shows.
In addition, PETABREW is expanding its precision measurement technology to various applications, aiming to replace imported products in public institutions, ships, and ground plants with domestic alternatives. The company expects its technology to provide reliable maintenance and supply through proven performance.
Using its advanced radar sensor technology and precise measurement data, PETABREW plans to enter the non-contact precision measurement and monitoring sector. The company also aims to strengthen its technological competitiveness through domestic production and international expansion.
PETABREW CEO Bum-Jin Ko stated, “This investment will enhance our efforts in product commercialization and market entry. We are focusing on becoming the leading provider of domestically-produced products and prioritizing installations in the eco-friendly sector. These efforts will help PETABREW establish a strong position in the market and reduce reliance on imported products.”
