Naver D2SF (D2 Startup Factory) has invested in two North American AI startups: “Claythis,” which focuses on generative AI-based 3D content creation, and “YesPlz,” a startup developing multimodal AI specifically for the fashion industry. The investment amounts were not disclosed.
Claythis has developed an AI solution that generates high-quality 3D characters and motions. Their end-to-end solution automates the entire process, including 3D modeling, posing, rigging (creating skeletons), and animating. Claythis delivers superior 3D quality, including 4K resolution, which stands out even among North American competitors.
Currently, Claythis is targeting small and mid-sized game studios, with plans to officially launch their solution later this year. Several game studios have already shown interest, and the company aims to expand its customer base significantly by 2025. The founding team includes CEO Seongho Ahn, who has had two previous exits, CTO Roger Hagen, formerly of Roblox, and a Chief Scientist with 15 years of research experience in 3D.
YesPlz has developed a multimodal AI model optimized for fashion product search and recommendations. Unlike most existing AI recommendation solutions, which are primarily text-based, YesPlz’s AI learns from text, images, and styles, achieving significantly higher matching accuracy compared to competing solutions. They offer their product tagging, widgets, and analytics tools in a SaaS format, targeting global fashion platforms.
Through beta testing, YesPlz has already secured numerous clients, including W.Concept, Kolon Mall, and The Handsome. Their AI-driven recommendations align closely with user intent, boosting key sales metrics for clients, such as cart conversion rates, purchase rates, and cost savings. The team has extensive experience in AI engineering and product development, with CEO Ji Won Hong having honed global PM skills at companies like Samsung Electronics and Sony Music.
Yang Sang-hwan, Director of Naver D2SF, said, “In the rapidly evolving AI industry, it’s crucial to anticipate market needs and quickly turn them into products. Claythis and YesPlz have leading technological competitiveness in their respective fields of 3D content and fashion commerce, and we expect them to grow their presence in the global market.”
