Foreign Startups Pitch to Korean Investors at Global Startup Center Event

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it recently held a Foreign Entrepreneurs Investment Meetup Day at the Global Startup Center in Korea.

The event was designed to offer foreign entrepreneurs who have started businesses in Korea opportunities for promotion and investment, and to help them connect with Korean investors.

At the meetup, Korean investors interested in foreign-founded startups participated by providing evaluations and feedback on investment opportunities. Over 30 participants, including startups and investors from both domestic and international backgrounds, engaged in Q&A sessions and networking.

Five foreign entrepreneurs presented their IR pitches: Ali Furqan (Pakistan), CEO of Transpiphy, which developed the AI-powered video editing app ‘ViralMe‘; Sina Albanese (Germany), CEO of Koralo, which launched the vegan fish alternative ‘NewF!sh’; Florian Ludot (France), CEO of Dev, which created the contact-saving platform ‘Meaningful Contact’ using keywords; Alican Yidizalp (Turkey), CEO of Avo Lingo, which developed an AI-based language learning platform using avatars; and Amahali Walet-Elmehdi (Mali), CEO of Ko-nect Now!, which built an AI-driven education platform for entrepreneurs.

Cho Kyung-won, Director General of the Startup Policy Bureau of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, expressed hopes that the event would provide valuable investment opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs. He also mentioned, “In the future, we will continue to support foreign entrepreneurs through the Global Startup Center by providing one-stop services for settling in Korea, introducing special Startup Korea visas, and expanding growth support programs to further globalize the startup ecosystem.”

Opened in late July, the Global Startup Center offers a range of services for foreign entrepreneurs, including office and meeting spaces, translation and interpretation services, help with visa and business registration, as well as networking and development programs.
