AgTech startup Modern Secures Investment to Expand GABA and Stevia Tomato Production

Modern, a Korean AgTech startup, announced on the 23rd that it has secured investment from CNTTech, The Invention Lab, and Infobank, along with a strategic partnership. This investment will allow Modern to accelerate its growth and expand its presence in the high-value agricultural market, particularly focusing on tomatoes, while also securing funds to boost the production and distribution of its key products: GABA tomatoes and stevia tomatoes.

GABA tomatoes are a premium product with functional health benefits, known for relieving stress and improving sleep. Stevia tomatoes, on the other hand, offer a naturally sweet taste while remaining healthy, thanks to stevia, a low-calorie sweetener. With this new funding, Modern plans to enhance productivity by implementing advanced smart farming technology and expanding its distribution network, both domestically and internationally. The company also plans to invest in new production facilities, strengthen its R&D capabilities, and accelerate the development of sustainable agricultural solutions.

Yeo Chang-eun, CEO of Modern, stated, “This investment marks a significant opportunity to accelerate Modern’s growth. We will use these resources to innovate further and strengthen our position in both domestic and global markets.”

The investors expressed their optimism, stating, “Modern is a company with strong technological capabilities and market potential. We are confident that this investment will lead to even greater growth and that Modern will become a leader in the functional health agricultural product market.”
