DIDEN Robotics, a South Korea-based developer of industrial robotic solutions, has secured seed funding from Bluepoint Partners and Company K Partners.
The company is currently developing a quadruped robot designed for tasks in metal-rich industrial environments. This robot offers automated inspection and work solutions in hazardous or hard-to-reach locations.
DIDEN Robotics’ key strength lies in its advanced quadruped technology. CEO Junha Kim founded the company after earning his Ph.D. from KAIST’s Hubo Lab, where the lab’s technology was featured on the cover of Science Robotics and set a Guinness World Record for ground walking speed.
Their new quadruped robot, equipped with magnetic feet, is being developed to navigate complex obstacles, including vertical walls and ceilings, ensuring stability during operations. It is designed for efficient work in tight, elevated spaces, reducing the risk of human accidents and significantly improving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
In the second half of this year, DIDEN Robotics plans to launch full-scale proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with major companies. These projects will test the robot’s ability to automate tasks in high-risk industries like shipbuilding and petrochemical plants.
Junha Kim, CEO of DIDEN Robotics, commented, “Automating the shipbuilding industry, both domestically and internationally, is essential, and our robot technology is well-suited for stable operations in hazardous environments. With this investment, we’re excited to expand our technology to a broader range of industries.”
