Korean Education Partners, a Korean startup developing AI-powered personalized education for teachers, announced today that it has secured 600 million KRW (approximately $450,000 USD) in seed funding from Smilegate Investment and Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation
Korean Education Partners is developing AI technology to support the transformation of education paradigms. As the school-age population decreases and the economy grows, the company aims to help developing countries smoothly transition from assembly-line style exam-oriented education to advanced, personalized career education.
Their flagship service, “Hakzzong-pro,” is an AI-based SaaS platform designed to support personalized career education for students, aligning with Korea’s 2025 high school credit system and 2028 college entrance exam reforms.
By offering AI-powered services at a reasonable price, the platform provides features typically found in high-cost college admissions consulting, such as school records management, academic field selection tests, record diagnosis, customized special activity recommendations, and exploratory activity support tools. This enables even small groups of private tutors to easily operate and utilize the platform.
Led by serial entrepreneurs with product commercialization and exit experience, Korean Education Partners is a leading company in the edtech sector. The team is actively engaged in R&D across various AI technologies, from B2G to B2C, and is rapidly disseminating technologies needed in the field based on close communication with educational institutions such as schools and academies. Leveraging its unique technological capabilities, the company has signed contracts with 45 regional offices nationwide and has seen rapid growth with over 1,300 academies subscribing to Hakzzong-pro.
Jae-Woo Kwon, CEO of Korean Education Partners, said, “Education that focuses on solving problems quickly and accurately within a given time frame has been sufficient with traditional lecture-style teaching. In the future, AI technology should be applied to career education, where each student requires a customized curriculum and content.”
He continued, “Through AI technology, we need to lower the cost of personalized career education to a reasonable level. We will dispel the market’s preconception that career education is only available to the wealthy through high-cost consulting, and spread the awareness that proper career education leads to satisfactory college admissions.”
