BISTOOL Secures Pre-Series A Funding to Expand Premium Facial Silicone Implant Line, SOFIT
BISTOOL, a Korea-based facial silicone implant startup, has secured KRW 700 million (approximately USD 525,000) in Pre-Series A funding from The Invention Lab. The investment will go towards expanding BISTOOL’s premium custom facial silicone implant line, SOFIT.
BISTOOL is a standout venture in Korea’s facial implant market, particularly known for its nasal implants. The company’s lightweight silicone implant, SOFTXiL, is currently the most widely used product in domestic plastic surgery clinics. Notably, it is the only facial silicone implant in Asia that has both U.S. FDA and European CE certifications.
Building on the success of SOFTXiL, BISTOOL has expanded into new markets with the launch of VXIL, a PDO thread product that uses an innovative press-sculpting technique. This year, the company is further developing the SOFIT lineup, focusing on premium custom facial silicone implants.
SOFIT implants are made from FDA-approved, implant-grade silicone and are based on the SOFTXiL design, allowing for predictable post-surgery outcomes. The implants are fully customized using the patient’s CT scans, reducing the risk of complications. This also gives surgeons the ability to tailor the implant’s shape to the patient’s anatomy, ensuring higher satisfaction with the results.
The Invention Lab, which led this round of investment, recognized BISTOOL’s strong market presence and technical expertise, particularly emphasizing the significance of FDA and CE-certified products in the highly competitive global market.
Jinyoung Kim, CEO of The Invention Lab, remarked, “BISTOOL is a unique venture, not just in Korea but globally, as it designs, manufactures, and sells highly competitive facial silicone implants. SOFIT, in particular, has the potential to revolutionize the premium facial silicone implant market.”
Eunhyun Bae, CEO of BISTOOL, stated, “With the brand recognition and success we’ve built with SOFTXiL, we aim to expand SOFIT, our premium line, into fast-growing cosmetic surgery markets such as Southeast Asia. This investment will help us accelerate growth in the facial silicone implant sector.”
