Red Dog Culture House Partners with Pierrot for Groundbreaking Animation Projects

Red Dog Culture House, a South Korean subculture content producer, has entered into a co-production and investment agreement with Pierrot, a prominent Japanese animation studio. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed.

Established in 1979, Pierrot is acclaimed for creating globally beloved TV series and feature films such as “Magical Angel Creamy Mami,” “Yu Yu Hakusho,” “Naruto,” “Bleach,” “Kingdom,” and “Tokyo Ghoul.”

Over the next three years, Red Dog Culture House plans to create at least two animation projects in collaboration with Pierrot, aimed at the global market, by setting up a production committee in Japan.

The initial project will be an adaptation of Red Dog Culture House’s popular webtoon “Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King,” with production slated to start within the year. This webtoon has already gained significant traction globally, being featured on platforms such as KakaoPage in Korea, Piccoma in Japan, and Tapas in the USA.

Following “Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King,” both companies plan to develop animations based on other Korean webtoons or renowned Japanese manga.

Baek Gi-yong, CEO of Red Dog Culture House, remarked, “Our collaboration with Pierrot represents a significant opportunity to showcase our accumulated capabilities to a global audience. We are committed to leveraging this partnership to enhance the global fandom for our leading IP, ‘Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King.’”

Kazumichi Ueda, CEO of Pierrot, shared his enthusiasm, stating, “From our first encounter with Red Dog Culture House, I was impressed by the quality, passion, and originality of their work. We are dedicated to combining our strengths to ensure that the animation ‘Latna Saga: Survival of a Sword King’ surpasses the expectations of its fans, and we greatly appreciate your support.”
