The Bareun Company, a South Korean foodtech company, has secured investment through its selection for the “2024 Today’s Tradition Startup Support Program,” managed by CNTTech.
The Bareun Company operates the brand “The Bareun Tteok,” which produces all its products in HACCP-certified facilities using 100% domestically sourced rice. The brand has gained significant popularity among domestic consumers, ranking first in the online tteok category and expanding into major supermarkets and department stores nationwide. It has also successfully entered international markets, including the United States, Canada, and Singapore.
Juhn Hwa-sung, CEO of CNTTech, commented, “The Bareun Company has great potential as the tteok distribution market gradually merges with the dessert market. Its prospects for global expansion are highly promising. This investment will support The Bareun Tteok’s business growth and international ventures.”
Jun Myung-joon, CEO of The Bareun Company, stated, “We aim to elevate the value of traditional culture through the global spread of K-FOOD and to introduce a variety of products that reflect the essence of our brand.”
