Korean drone and robotics specialist Alux announced winning the CES 2025 Innovation Award, marking its second consecutive year of recognition.
At the world’s largest IT/electronics exhibition in Las Vegas, Alux won the award for its ‘Coding Drone and Drone Game Platform’ in the games and E-sports category, following last year’s award for the standalone coding robot ‘VINU’.
This achievement is unprecedented for a domestic product, demonstrating Alux’s global technological leadership in robotics and drone entertainment. The award-winning product enables convenient drone and game platform utilization for both educational and entertainment purposes, with wireless communication and portability allowing instant drone arena creation in any space.
Alux’s technological prowess is evident in its drone sales: approximately $5 million in export contracts this year, with $3.28 million already delivered and $1.68 million in current orders. Cumulative drone sales exceed 150,000 units. North American exports have been particularly well-received, with plans to expand product lines into entertainment, filming, and home security.
According to the Korean Second Drone Industry Development Master Plan, the global drone market is projected to grow approximately 14.9% annually, reaching around 55 trillion KRW (approximately $41 billion USD) by 2025.
Alux has developed its core Flight Control (FC) component, offering superior performance and price competitiveness through in-house production. Currently, only a few companies worldwide, including DJI, can directly manufacture FC.
Their FC is 90% lighter than global competitors’ versions and includes additional features like RF and motor/power drivers. Through self-production, they’ve achieved over 80% cost reduction compared to purchasing FC externally.
CEO Chi-heon Lee stated, “As drone utilization increases and market potential grows, we will leverage our FC technology, production capabilities, and recently raised capital to rapidly lead the global drone market through new product development, potential North American drone company acquisitions, and establishing a Japanese joint venture.”
