GenGenAI, a Korean AI synthetic data technology company, announced its Innovation Award in the AI category at CES 2025.
GenGenAI developed ‘GenGenStudio’, a domain-specific generative AI synthetic data generation platform tailored for mobility, defense, security, and surveillance sectors. The platform can generate AI training data efficiently, reducing data collection periods by over 90% and costs by more than 50%. It can also easily create data for rare or unexpected scenarios.
In the mobility sector, GenGenStudio can generate driving data for autonomous vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including pedestrian and vehicle scenarios, global road signs, wildlife, and accident situations. Users can freely adjust parameters like season, weather, time, and geographical backgrounds.
For defense and military industries, the platform creates land, sea, and air target data for target recognition and identification. In CCTV, security, and surveillance fields, it generates data for unexpected situations and explosive detection.
Currently, GenGenAI is rapidly acquiring domestic and international customers. In the automotive sector, they collaborate with complete vehicle manufacturers and parts suppliers. In defense, they have partnerships with the Army, Defense Science Research Institute, Hanwha Systems, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), and SKT. In security and surveillance, they work with Nota and Hanwha Vision.
Notably, customer analyses show that learning with GenGenAI’s synthetic data alongside real data improves performance by over 5% compared to using real data alone. Even using only their synthetic data achieves AI accuracy equivalent to or exceeding real-world data.
CEO Ho-jin Cho stated, “Improving AI performance using only real data has reached its limit, and the importance of synthetic data is rapidly rising globally. We are conducting various projects with domestic and international companies, military, and national research institutes, and through CES 2025, we aim to successfully enter the global market.”
GenGenAI, composed of members with extensive image processing and computer vision research experience, secured investment from Naver D2SF just three months after founding. They are currently growing as a leading synthetic data company and were recently selected for the ‘100 Defense Innovation Companies’ (3rd batch).
