Thermo Lab Korea Establishes Joint Venture in China for Sustainable Packaging
Thermo Lab Korea announced on the 17th that it has established a joint venture, Thermo Lab Suzhou New Material Science and Technology Co., Ltd., in Suzhou, China, in partnership with King Flying New Material Science and Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese packaging manufacturing specialist.

Through this joint venture, the two companies aim to combine their strengths to enhance competitiveness in the eco-friendly packaging market. With the Chinese government’s policy to completely ban the use of Styrofoam by 2025, the companies plan to expand the production and distribution of eco-friendly packaging products to effectively meet growing market demand.
King Flying New Material Science and Technology Co., Ltd. is a company with an annual revenue of KRW 5 billion (approximately USD 3.6 million) and operates a 6,000㎡ advanced production facility with proprietary eco-friendly technology patents. Thermo Lab Korea aims to use this collaboration to expand its Eco-Liner production line and grow its market presence across Asia, including Korea, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
The Eco-Liner is a next-generation eco-friendly cold chain packaging solution designed to replace Styrofoam. It can be separated and recycled as paper, helping reduce carbon emissions and promote resource circulation by reusing waste paper. Capable of maintaining stable temperatures for over 24 hours, the Eco-Liner offers an optimal solution for demanding logistics environments such as pharmaceutical and fresh food transportation. The product also aligns with global regulatory changes, such as the European Union’s Single-Use Plastics Directive and China’s plastic pollution management policies, making it an effective eco-friendly alternative that reduces carbon emissions and prevents environmental pollution by replacing Styrofoam.
Major logistics companies in Korea are already using the Eco-Liner to improve logistics efficiency and strengthen their environmentally friendly brand image. Building on its domestic success, the Eco-Liner is now accelerating its entry into the broader Asian logistics market.
Seok Choi, CEO of Thermo Lab Korea, said, “This joint venture in China is a significant opportunity to expand our eco-friendly packaging business across Asia. The Eco-Liner will set a new standard in the global logistics market, achieving sustainable growth while contributing to environmental protection.”
