ZEST Secures SparkLabs Funding to Advance AI-Driven Sustainable Construction Solutions

ZEST, a Korean AI-based sustainable construction solutions company, has secured pre-seed funding from SparkLabs. Founded in 2024, ZEST has built a database of approximately 130,000 environmentally certified construction materials and developed BuildChain, an AI-powered integrated solution designed to help builders and architects transition to sustainable construction.

BuildChain enables clients to upload construction project details, which are analyzed by AI to identify the most cost-effective eco-friendly materials and suppliers based on factors such as cost, production volume, and logistics expenses. The platform also simplifies carbon emission management, expediting life-cycle assessments of structures and green certification processes.

With this funding, ZEST plans to expand BuildChain’s database to include general construction materials and develop zero-energy building (ZEB) solutions by integrating AI and data technologies, further supporting carbon emission reductions in construction projects.

Yoojin Kim, CEO of SparkLabs, commented, “BuildChain is a groundbreaking solution that solves the complexities of material sourcing and data management in the construction market. It positions ZEST as a leader in driving sustainability through green certifications and carbon neutrality.”

Hogeon Jung, CEO of ZEST, added, “As the importance of managing Scope 3 emissions in construction projects grows, this investment from SparkLabs will enable us to advance our sustainable construction solutions and contribute to creating a more sustainable future.”
