VIV Health to Unveil World’s First Smart Ring with Generative Sleep Sound Technology at CES 2025
VIV Health has announced plans to showcase VIV™ Ring, the world’s first smart ring equipped with generative sleep enhancement sound technology, at CES 2025, starting January 7th.
Chris Yeh, CEO of Silicon Valley’s Blitzscaling Ventures, highlighted smart rings as one of the top 10 technology trends to watch in 2025 during an interview with The Miilk. He predicted smart rings’ success due to their familiar form factor and potential to become the new standard in personal health management through real-time health data collection and AI-based health predictions.
VIV Health is a digital health startup that developed the VIV Ring, which monitors and analyzes vital signs including heart rate, oxygen saturation, heart rate variability, stress levels, and sleep patterns. The device offers personalized health monitoring and innovative generative sleep enhancement sound technology.
The VIV Ring stands out as the world’s only “Intuitive Smart Ring,” featuring a simplified user interface through the VIV™ app. It addresses common user complaints about competitors’ complex interfaces and unnecessary scrolling by focusing on simple visualization of biometric data. The ring is compatible with Apple Health, with iOS app already launched and Android version scheduled for February 2025.
The ring’s unique generative sleep aid sound technology creates personalized audio based on the user’s biometric signals and sleep patterns using AI algorithms. The basic version is complete, with a highly personalized version planned for Q1 2025.
Unlike competitors using digital signal processing for sleep sounds, VIV Ring incorporates actual nature recordings, including ocean waves, deep-sea sounds, forest rainfall, and bird songs, combined with proprietary monaural and binaural sound technology.
The ring features a concave design for scratch resistance and diamond-cut chamfered edges for luxury appeal. It employs sensor technology that eliminates internal protrusions for superior comfort. Product development was completed in December, with global certifications (FCC, CE, KC) in progress and sales scheduled to begin in February 2025.
CEO Min-young Shin announced that Professor Won-seok Jang (formerly of Siemens Medical R&D and Samsung Medison) serves as CSO, and revealed plans to develop VIV™ Pro, a Class 2 medical device capable of measuring blood pressure and atrial fibrillation, by the end of 2025.
