South Korean pet tech company CareSix, which develops health monitoring systems for pets, has secured seed funding from the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (Jeju CCEI).

CareSix aims to improve pets’ life expectancy with wearable devices designed to monitor surgical recovery, chronic diseases, and more. The company received two innovation awards in the wearable category at CES 2023 for its pioneering technology. It is the first in the world to integrate Ballistocardiography (BCG) technology into pet wearables, allowing real-time tracking of biometric signals (heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, and ECG) and clinical indicators (urination, defecation, coughing, and activity levels).

Its flagship products include “Sense 1 VET,” an emergency monitoring system for veterinary clinics, “Sense 1 Guardian,” tailored for post-surgery recovery or chronically ill pets, and “Sense 1 Home,” a system for early disease detection. These devices feature automatic vital checks and provide early alerts to veterinarians and pet owners in case of abnormalities, enabling timely medical intervention.

CareSix is also participating in Jeju Province’s “Publicly Listed Company Development Support Program.” Since launching its first product in 2023, the company has installed systems in 42 veterinary clinics and plans to expand to an additional 40 locations. Internationally, CareSix is actively pursuing global markets, co-developing pet disease monitoring AI algorithms with Japan’s largest pet insurance company, Anicom. Additionally, the company achieved its first export milestone last year through a contract with India’s Fresh Nation.

With this latest funding, Jeju CCEI has directly invested in 35 companies as part of its seed funding initiative, bringing the total to 46 companies supported through its private and venture investment funds, as well as government-backed programs.
