MONA Organizes Inaugural K-Beauty Sustainability Summit in Seoul
MONA successfully organized the first-ever K-Beauty Sustainability Summit in English at the Global Startup Center, attracting around 100 attendees, including industry leaders, innovators, and professionals. The event focused on the future of sustainability and inclusivity in the global K-beauty industry on January 23rd, 2025.
The summit featured a panel discussion moderated by Quinn Phan, CEO of MONA, where trailblazing female leaders shared their insights on sustainability, diversity, and innovation within the K-beauty landscape. The distinguished panelists included Fama Ndiaye, CEO of AGASKIN, Yuna Kim, CEO of Layers Cosmetics, and Karol Campos, Product Manager of Picky.
The event also included a holistic skincare workshop led by Fama Ndiaye, where participants engaged in mindful beauty practices to enhance their skincare routines and well-being.
In line with its sustainability commitment, MONA encouraged attendees to bring their own tumblers to minimize waste. The summit also showcased booths featuring vegan cosmetic brands, with MONA’s booth offering surplus skincare products from its partners as a demonstration of surplus redistribution.
Quinn Phan, CEO of MONA, expressed her gratitude for the summit’s success: “The K-Beauty Sustainability Summit reflects the beauty industry’s readiness to embrace sustainable practices and inclusivity. By providing the opportunities for more dialogues and collaborations, we aim to inspire and raise awareness about sustainable practices among businesses and individuals.”
The summit provided valuable networking opportunities, allowing businesses and professionals to exchange ideas and explore collaborations focused on driving innovation in sustainable beauty. Attendees were also inspired by the summit’s focus on women empowerment and inclusivity. Following the summit, many shared their positive reviews on LinkedIn and Instagram, expressing how they felt motivated by the panel discussion and the insights provided by the speakers. They highlighted the importance of empowering women in leadership roles and fostering inclusive practices in both the beauty industry and society as a whole.
MONA is currently participating in the ‘K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC)’, sponsored by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This program was initiated to enhance the global competitiveness of the domestic venture ecosystem by attracting outstanding overseas entrepreneurial and technical talent, aiming to establish Korea as Asia’s premier startup business hub.
