JLT, a South Korean robotics automation company, announced on the 25th that it has secured a Series B investment of approximately $17 million (KRW 23 billion) from domestic and international investors, including Stonebridge Ventures, Partners Investment, SJ Investment Partners, and Millennium New Horizons.

With this funding, JLT plans to enhance its existing welding automation solutions and develop next-generation robotic automation solutions that integrate welding inspection and vision inspection. These advancements will help the company expand its global customer base across various industries, including electric vehicles, shipbuilding, offshore wind power, and plant construction.
Notably, this round saw the participation of Millennium New Horizons, a Silicon Valley-based deep-tech investment firm, which joined as a new shareholder, recognizing JLT’s strong technological capabilities and potential for global market expansion.
JLT will use this investment to refine its welding automation solutions further while also developing next-generation robotic automation technology that combines welding and vision inspection. Additionally, the company has recently begun developing an automated robotic solution for battery recycling (battery disassembly) that eliminates the risk of electric shock and maximizes work efficiency. It plans to introduce a prototype within the year.
JLT is committed to achieving zero electric shock risk while maximizing operational efficiency and aims to launch its battery recycling automation robot prototype before the end of the year.
A JLT spokesperson stated, “An automated robotic solution is essential for ensuring both safety and efficiency in battery disassembly operations. We will continue our R&D efforts to introduce innovative automation technologies in the battery recycling market.”
Hyunwoo Jung, CEO of JLT, commented, “This investment marks a crucial stepping stone for expanding into various global markets, including AI-based robotic systems and electric vehicle manufacturing. We will continue to enhance our welding automation technology while expanding into new business areas, such as battery recycling, to drive sustainable growth.”
Founded in 2019, JLT specializes in AI-driven robotics automation systems. It provides and operates various solutions for domestic and international clients, including Hyundai Motor, LG Magna, Semes, and Hyundai Robotics, across factories in North America, Eastern Europe, and beyond. Now in its fifth year, the company has achieved annual revenue exceeding $7.4 million (KRW 10 billion), demonstrating strong financial sustainability.
