Forbes Names Upbit South Korea’s Top Crypto Exchange, 7th Most Trustworthy Worldwide
Dunamu, the operator of South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, announced on the 26th that it ranked first in South Korea and seventh globally in Forbes’ ‘2025 World’s Most Trustworthy Crypto Exchanges & Marketplaces’ assessment.

Forbes evaluated over 200 cryptocurrency exchanges and marketplaces worldwide, using data from both internal and external experts. The rankings were determined based on nine key factors, including Bitcoin and Ethereum reserves, regulatory compliance, transparency, financial stability, and trading fees.
Upbit received a score of 6 out of 10, placing it as the seventh most trustworthy exchange globally. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) took the top spot with 7.7 points, followed by Coinbase (7.6), Bitstamp (6.8), Binance (6.7), Robinhood (6.6), and Bitbank (6.1).
Forbes particularly highlighted Upbit’s transparency and financial stability. It noted, “Upbit is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea, serving over 10 million users.”
Dunamu CEO Seok-woo Lee stated, “Upbit remains committed to becoming a globally recognized cryptocurrency exchange by continuously enhancing service quality, security, and investor protection.”
Meanwhile, Upbit was ranked first in South Korea and fifth globally in ‘Kaiko’s Q4 2024 cryptocurrency exchange assessment.’ Additionally, in November 2024, global crypto data provider CCData ranked Upbit as the top exchange in South Korea and 14th globally.
