MediThinQ Secures 12.4 Billion KRW for Global Expansion of XR Wearable Display Solutions

Korean startup MediThinQ, a developer of XR wearable display solutions for medical applications, has successfully raised KRW 12.4 billion in its Series B funding round. The round was led by Partners Investment, with participation from domestic and international venture capital firms (VCs) and strategic investors.

“The funding exceeded our initial target by 10%, a testament to MediThinQ’s innovation and growth potential,” the company stated. “With this investment, we have established a solid foundation for global expansion.” MediThinQ plans to leverage the funds to accelerate its presence in both domestic and international markets.

MediThinQ’s flagship product, SCOPEYE, is an XR wearable display solution featuring Eyes Up display technology, enabling surgeons to view medical images directly within their line of sight during procedures. It seamlessly integrates with existing medical imaging devices without requiring additional software and delivers high-resolution, lifelike visuals. By allowing medical professionals to maintain a comfortable posture while performing surgeries with greater precision and efficiency, SCOPEYE is driving innovation in the medical field and providing tangible benefits to both healthcare providers and patients.

In early 2023, MediThinQ took a significant step toward global expansion by signing an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement for SCOPEYE with Medtronic, a leading global healthcare technology company. In August of the same year, the company expanded its supply agreement to 33 European Union (EU) countries. Further strengthening its market presence, MediThinQ secured a distribution contract in South Korea in February 2024.

Seungjun Lim, CEO of MediThinQ, commented, “With this Series B investment and our growing global partnerships, we are now in a stronger position to introduce our innovative medical XR solutions to a wider international audience. We will continue to advance our technology and expand our global network to establish ourselves as a leader in the medical device industry.”

As part of the 2024 Metaverse Platform Development Support Project led by South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT, MediThinQ collaborated with the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) to develop XR-based content and an interactive environment.

Building on this momentum, MediThinQ is accelerating its global market expansion and is actively pursuing its growth strategy, with a KOSDAQ listing planned for 2026.
