Kakao Entertainment Launches ‘Berriz,’ a Global K-Culture Fan Platform

Kakao Entertainment has officially launched its global K-Culture fan platform ‘Berriz‘ on the 25th, kicking off its full-scale service.

Berriz is a global K-Culture fan platform offering various services for fans of all K-Culture IPs, including artists, creators, and content IPs like webtoons, dramas, movies, and musicals.

Kakao Entertainment stated, “Just like berries that come in various shapes and sizes but become sweeter and larger when gathered, ‘Berriz’ will be a vibrant space where global fandoms can communicate and enjoy K-Culture together, transcending genres and boundaries.”

Following singer Jung Seung-hwan from Antenna, the rookie girl group KiiiKiii from Starship Entertainment has opened its official fan community on Berriz upon its debut to closely connect with fans. Additionally, the drama ‘Bunny and Her Boys,’ adapted from a Kakao Webtoon, will launch its fan community in early April ahead of its broadcast premiere. By collaborating with artists, Kakao Entertainment’s label content IPs, and various entertainment partners, Berriz aspires to become a comprehensive global fan platform where K-Culture fans can gather and interact.

Berriz is a fan-friendly modular platform, designed to selectively implement services based on the characteristics and needs of each IP and fandom. Through the integration of AI, commerce, and live streaming, it will offer tailored communities. The platform also supports flexible management, making it easy to adjust community features based on feedback from fans and IP owners. This dynamic environment fosters free communication and enjoyment.

Berriz acknowledges the growing trend of fans not only engaging with artists but also creating and sharing content. It will provide a range of interactive services to support these experiences. Using its extensive experience in managing platforms like Kakao Page, Melon, and 1theK, Kakao Entertainment plans to collaborate with fans to cultivate a new fandom culture.

Starship’s girl group KiiiKiii released their debut album ‘UNCUT GEM’ on the 24th, opening their official fan community on Berriz simultaneously. KiiiKiii will connect with fans through live streaming, VOD services, and interactive spaces. With their pre-debut song ‘I DO ME,’ KiiiKiii has drawn attention for their Gen Z charm, polished performances, and remarkable talent. Each member – Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Haeum, and Kiya – will have individual profiles, giving fans a personalized experience in engaging with the group.

In early April, the official fan community for the drama ‘Bunny and Her Boys’ will launch on Berriz. Adapted from a popular webtoon with over 170 million views, the drama is produced by Kakao Entertainment and will premiere on MBC on April 4th. Starring Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, and Jo Jun-young, the drama follows Bunny’s romantic journey as she becomes entangled with charming men after a regretful first relationship. Through Berriz, fans can enjoy drama-related content, AI-powered services, and exclusive events. Both webtoon and drama fans can share their excitement and engage in discussions in one community space.

Jung Seung-hwan, who frequently engages with fans on Berriz through messages and surprise live streams, has introduced new services in his fan community following the official launch. A special space for his official fan club ‘US’ members is now available, with verification required for access. Cherished memories from previous fan club boards have also been preserved and transferred to Berriz.

Berriz is now accessible on web and mobile (Android and iOS) and supports translations in 18 languages, including Korean and English, to accommodate its global fanbase.
