MetaDx, a Korean startup revolutionizing veterinary care, has secured USD 350 K (KRW 500 million) in seed follow-on funding from KAIST Venture Investment Holdings (KVI).

This investment will support the commercialization of MetaDx’s automated veterinary diagnostic assistance solution and accelerate its overseas market expansion by enhancing facilities and equipment.
Founded in 2024 by CEO Jin-wook Kim, a Seoul National University Veterinary Medicine master’s graduate, MetaDx is a technology-driven startup pioneering bioinformation-based diagnostic tools for pets. The company plans to launch “CancerVet,” an AI-powered solution to maximize veterinary convenience, in the second half of this year—Korea’s first of its kind.
Jun-hyun Ahn, a director at KAIST Venture Investment, said, “MetaDx has developed technology to detect tumor malignancy early using biomarkers identified through years of proprietary research. This offers hope to over 12 million pet owners in Korea and positions MetaDx to become a global leader in pet diagnostic assistance solutions.”
Jin-wook Kim, CEO of MetaDx, stated, “This investment from KVI is a significant milestone recognizing our technology and market potential. We aim to transform the veterinary landscape with innovative solutions, expanding rapidly both domestically and internationally.”
Following earlier seed funding from Korea Investment Accelerator and The Yoonmin Foundation, this follow-on investment is expected to boost MetaDx’s technology refinement and business growth.
