StudioMetaK, a South Korea-based AI-driven content IP studio, has successfully raised approximately USD 2.2 million(KRW 3 billion) in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Korea Investment Partners with USD 1.45 million(KRW 2 billion), followed by an additional USD 730,000(KRW 1 billion) from TimeWorks Investment.

StudioMetaK is pioneering innovation in the content industry through its proprietary AI-powered content production and virtual human technology. By leveraging generative AI, the company enhances production efficiency and creativity across various formats including dramas, films, advertisements, and music videos. Its ability to deliver ultra-realistic, high-quality content indistinguishable from live-action filming is positioning it as a game-changer—particularly in the drama production sector, which is currently grappling with rising production costs.
The newly secured funding will be used to further advance StudioMetaK’s AI technology, expand its content production infrastructure, and develop a comprehensive global marketing strategy. The company plans to broaden its business scope beyond drama production to include advertising, film, music videos, and virtual human content.
As the first domestic studio to brand itself as a comprehensive AI + content IP production company, StudioMetaK has already gained significant recognition for its technological innovation. It has been selected for multiple government-backed initiatives, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ TIPS program, NVIDIA’s Inception & N-Up initiatives, and the Korea Creative Content Agency’s investment-linked startup acceleration program. Collectively, these programs have provided over USD 2.55 million(KRW 3.5 billion) in grants and support.
Commenting on the investment, Na Jong-yoon, CEO of TimeWorks Investment, stated, “StudioMetaK’s AI content production and virtual human technology have the potential to transform the future content ecosystem, far beyond the traditional market. We expect this funding to further empower StudioMetaK to lead innovative content production on a global scale.”
StudioMetaK CEO Kim Kwang-jib added, “The AI-based content creation market is growing rapidly. With this investment, we aim to further enhance our technological capabilities and creative strengths. AI-integrated content not only reduces traditional production costs but also enables the creation of high-quality, globally competitive works.”
