BigValue Secures USD 3.57M Series B to Advance AI-Driven Data Tech Platform
Data tech Korean company BigValue announced it has raised USD 3.57 million (KRW 5 billion) in Series B funding, bringing its cumulative investment to USD 8.57 million (KRW 12 billion).
The round was led by Shinhan Venture Investment, with new investors HB Investment and ROI Investment Partners joining. Unlike the Series A, which focused on strategic investors (SI), Series B shifted to financial investors (FI), reflecting the market’s positive evaluation of BigValue’s independence and profitability-driven growth model.
In Series A, Shinhan Financial Group’s open innovation program “Shinhan Future’s Lab” New Technology Investment Fund No. 1 participated as an early investor. This time, Shinhan Venture Investment, an affiliate, joined as a follow-on investor, underscoring group-wide confidence in BigValue’s technology and growth potential.
BigValue plans to enhance its data analytics service, the BigValue Platform, with this funding. By building industry-specific ontologies, it aims to simplify AI and data integration. Collaborating with accountants, appraisers, and real estate agents, BigValue will establish tailored data supply systems and expand its B2B market, targeting SMEs and small businesses.
Notably, BigValue will strengthen its AI agent technology, allowing users to query data in natural language for instant retrieval and summarized visualizations, enabling faster, intuitive business insights. This is expected to drive data-driven decision-making and AI adoption across industries.
Positioning itself as an “AI essential” by optimizing data flows for the AI era, BigValue recorded USD 3.57 million (KRW 5 billion) in revenue last year, a fourfold increase from 2022. It surpasses industry averages in key financial health metrics like liquidity ratios and maintains a stable financial base without external borrowing.
Gunho Park, Director at Shinhan Venture Investment, said, “BigValue is rapidly expanding its data services beyond spatial, commercial, and demographic data to R&D and environmental data. Supplying its platform to clients in public, financial, real estate, and healthcare sectors, it’s emerging as a leading domestic data infrastructure company. As data becomes the top resource in the generative AI era, BigValue’s value in supporting data supply and utilization will grow significantly.”
BigValue CEO Reom Gu said, “Our long-term efforts in data tech have been recognized for their technical prowess and market potential. This investment will fuel accelerated growth during the AI transformation era.”
