HTbeyond Secures $5M in Series B to Expand IoT-Powered Smart Housing Platform

HTbeyond, a South Korean IoT-based residential service provider, has successfully closed an approximately USD 5 million(KRW 7 billion) Series B funding round. The round was joined by Puzzle Investment Korea, Korea Development Bank (KDB), and ES Investor. The funding will be used to advance data analytics capabilities and strengthen IoT infrastructure as the company continues to scale its business.

Since launching its integrated smart home platform “ByB” in 2019, HTbeyond has led innovation in residential services. Leveraging the flexibility of IoT technology, ByB connects various devices and spaces into a unified platform, streamlining fragmented services and enhancing everyday convenience for residents.

The ByB platform supports a wide array of essential services, including home IoT features, smart entry through main gates, elevator calls, visitor parking reservations, and EV charging. It also offers community functions such as facility reservations, real-time congestion updates, announcements, complaint filing, bulletin boards, and neighbor-to-neighbor sharing. Additional services like maintenance, cleaning, cultural experiences, and health management are offered through partnerships with local businesses.

ByB currently serves over 500 apartment complexes, 310,000 households, and 640,000 users. It has been adopted as a dedicated platform by 10 major construction companies and is recognized as a leading integrated residential service in Korea. Recently, it was officially implemented in Olympic Park Foreon, a mega-complex of over 12,000 households, demonstrating the platform’s reliability at scale.

With this new funding, HTbeyond plans to further develop its data analytics capabilities, transforming collected lifestyle data into tools for strategic decision-making. These insights will enable resource-saving and operational efficiency in apartment management while helping construction companies identify new business opportunities and ESG-linked collaboration models with local communities.

HTbeyond CEO Lee Gun-koo stated, “As technological innovation accelerates, residential culture is evolving rapidly. We aim to expand a value-driven ecosystem where multiple stakeholders participate in a data-based virtuous cycle.”

Looking ahead, HTbeyond will use this investment as a springboard to evolve its data-centric residential platform and expand it into a smart city infrastructure that connects complexes, neighborhoods, and entire urban systems.
