Hyperithm Invests in Plume to Pioneer the Tokenized Real-World Asset (RWA) Market

South Korean digital asset financial services firm Hyperithm has made a strategic investment in Plume, a Layer-2 blockchain specialized in tokenization. With this move, Hyperithm aims to capture an early lead in the rapidly growing real-world asset (RWA) market, which is projected to reach $16 trillion by 2030. The investment is also part of Hyperithm’s broader strategy to offer advanced financial infrastructure for institutional investors.

RWAs (Real-World Assets) refer to high-quality physical assets—such as real estate, fine art, or U.S. Treasury bonds—digitally represented on a blockchain as tokenized instruments. Through RWAs, investors can fractionally own expensive assets, trade them 24/7 beyond geographic boundaries, and benefit from unprecedented liquidity and capital efficiency.

Plume, the target of this investment, is a blockchain project launched by former Wall Street and Big Tech professionals with the vision of bringing all real-world assets onto the blockchain. Leveraging high-speed Layer-2 (“blockchain highway”) technology, Plume offers fast and low-cost transactions while integrating tokenization and regulatory compliance as modular, built-in features—akin to Lego blocks.

Chris Yin, co-founder and CEO of Plume, is a UC San Diego graduate and seasoned Web2 entrepreneur and venture capitalist, having previously worked at Scale Venture Partners and founded multiple software companies. Co-founder and CBO Teddy Pornprinya, a UC Berkeley alumnus, led venture investments and business development at Coinbase Ventures and Binance, respectively.

Plume has raised over $30 million (~KRW 39 billion) to date, with Haun Ventures leading its seed round and Brevan Howard Digital and Galaxy Digital co-leading its Series A. Strategic investors include Binance’s investment arm YZiLabs and Apollo Global Management, one of the world’s largest asset managers, drawing widespread attention and confidence from the market.

Hyperithm, founded in 2018, is a digital asset financial service provider focused on institutional clients. It is a registered Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) certified by South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) under the Financial Services Commission. Operating out of Seoul and Tokyo, Hyperithm has raised over approximately USD 15 million(KRW 20 billion) from major domestic and global players including Samsung, Kakao, and Coinbase.

“As the Web3 market matures, the tokenization of real-world assets will become a fundamental force reshaping institutional finance,” said Hyperithm CEO Sangrok Oh. “Plume is building a unique infrastructure and ecosystem for RWAs, and this investment marks the beginning of a technical synergy between our two companies, beyond mere capital participation.”
