SmartfoodNetworks Secures $10.8M Series C Funding to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Foodservice Industry
SmartfoodNeworkst (SFN), a Korean foodservice commerce and technology startup, has raised USD 10.8 million(KRW 15 billion) in its Series C funding round.
This round included both existing major investors and new strategic investors. Previously, SFN raised USD 28.8 million(KRW 40 billion) in its Series B funding in 2022, following a pre-Series A round in 2021. The newly raised capital will be used to enhance logistics infrastructure and strengthen data-driven services, accelerating the digitalization of the foodservice industry.
Currently, SFN operates “Foodservice UP”, a food material distribution service for franchise headquarters, and “Differentiation Restaurant”, a food material platform for independent restaurant owners. The company is also preparing to launch “Foodservice UP HQ”, an all-in-one solution for franchise headquarters.
The newly updated brand-exclusive mall, “Foodservice UP,” evolved from the existing Freshion platform, is currently used by over 80 franchise headquarters, with 24 new brands added this year alone.
Meanwhile, “Foodservice UP HQ” is designed to support the co-growth of franchise headquarters and their franchisees. The platform integrates functions such as procurement, sales, accounting, reviews, and communication into a single management solution. By consolidating fragmented data from POS systems, delivery platforms, and ordering systems, the solution automates repetitive and complex tasks. This integration connects sales, procurement, and review data to improve operational efficiency for franchisees while boosting headquarters’ profitability. Notably, small and medium-sized franchise headquarters without dedicated ERP systems can now experience streamlined operational automation.
Since its launch in June 2023, “Differentiation Restaurant” has recorded approximately 180,000 accumulated transactions. Despite the downturn in the restaurant industry, the platform achieved 66.5% year-over-year sales growth in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, fueled by strong word-of-mouth adoption. Its features include nationwide D-1 delivery, temperature-controlled placement in restaurant refrigerators, tailored ingredient recommendations by business type, and a management service for independent owners called “Differentiation Ledger.” These benefits have driven high repurchase rates and customer loyalty.
The recently updated “Differentiation Ledger” enables automatic collection of sales data without requiring POS installation and provides a menu-level sales leaderboard.
SFN’s CEO, Heo Jeong-eun, who took office in March, stated “Through integrated data analysis, we will deliver a management system that not only enhances operational efficiency but also drives sales growth, customer loyalty, and brand value for the foodservice industry.”
SFN first entered the food distribution business in 2007. After formally establishing Smartfoodnet in 2020, the company has been leading digital transformation and operational innovation across the Korean foodservice sector.
