Korean Digital Rental Platform Rentre Secures $3 Million in Series A Round

South Korean digital rental marketplace Rentre has closed a $3 million Series A funding round led by Hana Ventures. The round included participation from FuturePlay, IBK Venture Investment, Dcamp, Magellan Technology Investment, Woori Financial Capital, and Dasung Ventures.

Rentre’s platform streamlines the rental process for home appliances, electronics, and telecom equipment by digitizing everything from price comparisons to contract signing and payment processing. The company’s standout features include reverse auction pricing, escrow-based subsidy management, automated installation verification through image recognition, and AI-powered customer service. This approach delivers price transparency for consumers while helping rental partners automate their operations.

The startup plans to use the fresh capital to boost brand awareness through expanded marketing, refine its AI consultation engine, build SaaS tools for partner companies, and accelerate manufacturer partnerships.

“We’re modernizing Korea’s rental industry, which has traditionally relied on door-to-door sales and telemarketing,” said CEO Seo Hyun-dong. “This investment will help us scale our platform so more customers get fair deals and more partners can grow sustainably.”

Jeon Jae-kwon, Investment Manager at lead investor Hana Ventures, praised Rentre’s approach: “They’re bringing much-needed transparency and efficiency to Korea’s fragmented rental market. Their platform model creates value for both sides of the marketplace, and we see significant potential for industry-wide transformation.”

The funding marks a key milestone as Rentre works to digitize South Korea’s traditional rental sector and establish itself as the go-to platform for equipment rentals.
