Milliway, a Korean infrastructure digitalization startup that utilizes vehicle sensor data to detect and manage road damage in real time, has secured approximately USD 730,000(KRW 1 billion) in a Pre-Series A round from MYSC (MY Social Company) and The Wells Investment. This follows a USD 73K(KRW 100 million) seed round raised in November last year, marking the beginning of its full-scale growth trajectory.

Milliway provides a data-driven road management SaaS solution that supports the entire process — from real-time road damage detection to response and prediction — leveraging vehicle sensors and AI. Its platform consists of three modules: “damage detection,” “damage response,” and “damage prediction.” It enables rapid monitoring of larger road networks at lower cost than traditional methods, while integrating on-site maintenance operations within a single system. Furthermore, by analyzing accumulated data, it helps predict potential road damage to enable proactive management.
This investment is significant in that it presents an innovative solution to chronic inefficiencies in urban infrastructure management, such as aging roads, labor shortages, and excessive civil complaints. Milliway’s AI-powered road management solution is expected to play a key role in building safe and sustainable urban infrastructure by automating real-time damage detection, streamlining workflows, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
By digitalizing the traditional manual and field-based infrastructure management system with sensor and AI technology, Milliway’s solution maximizes both operational efficiency and safety of urban infrastructure. Its integrated complaint management, automatic reporting, and remote instruction capabilities reduce unnecessary site dispatches and administrative redundancy — enabling faster responses to road-related complaints and thereby reducing public safety risks and social costs.
Additionally, nationwide vehicle data enables high-precision road condition monitoring that prevents over-repair and unnecessary resurfacing, minimizing waste of construction materials and fuel. This contributes to greenhouse gas reduction and aligns with government carbon-neutrality policies.
Junjae Byun, Investment Manager at MYSC, stated, “Milliway is an impact startup that enhances urban infrastructure efficiency through technology, while also creating social value by protecting citizens’ safety and the environment. We expect Milliway to set a new standard for public-sector infrastructure management and contribute to building safer, more sustainable cities.”
A Milliway spokesperson added, “Digital transformation of road management is no longer optional — it is essential. Through our collaboration with MYSC, we will further advance our technology and expand deployment across local governments to build a next-generation, data-driven road management ecosystem.”
