Altos Ventures hosted an ‘AI Builder Salon’ on November 6 at Tartine Itaewon in collaboration with Anthropic, the developer of generative AI ‘Claude’, and Saehan Venture Capital.
The event brought together Anthropic co-founder Benjamin Mann with Korean AI developers, startup founders, and tech leaders to share development and creative use cases utilizing Claude. Approximately 150 attendees participated, creating an energetic atmosphere filled with active Q&A sessions and enthusiastic engagement.
The event began with Jo Zhu Kennedy, Head of Startup Partnerships & Growth at Anthropic, announcing the company’s entry into the Korean market with the opening of their first APAC office in Korea. Kennedy noted that “numerous AI innovation companies in Asia have gained significant attention while developing innovative applications based on Claude,” mentioning Korean startups Tain AI and Coxwave.
Benjamin Mann’s fireside chat featured in-depth discussions focusing on how the recently launched Claude Code and Model Context Protocol (MCP) have transformed development workflows and creative work processes.
The first panel session, ‘Development with Claude’, was moderated by Altos Ventures partner Moon-seok Oh and featured Kyu-ha Kim, CBO of portfolio company Viva Republica, Chang-hoon Jung, CTO of Daangn, and Jae-won Kim, CEO of Alice Group. They shared their experiences with agentic coding using Claude Code and MCP, as well as GPU infrastructure expansion cases, highlighting how AI has evolved beyond a simple tool to become an actual collaboration partner.
The second panel session, ‘Claude in Creative Workflows’, was moderated by Hoon-pyo Jeon, partner at Saehan Venture Capital, with panelists including Doo-sun Hong, CEO of Cinamon, Soo-wan Lee, CEO of Tain AI, Oh-hyeong Son, CTO of MOFAC Studio, and Ho-ki Jang, PD of Studio TEO. The panelists engaged in deep discussions about innovation in the creative process through MCP-based tool integration and how human creativity is being redefined in the era of conversational AI.
