Battery Materials Startup ‘KOREALFP’ Raises $3M to Expand US Production and Global Supply Chain
Korean battery materials startup KOREALFP has raised $3 million (4.35 billion KRW) in funding from global investor Korinvest Group through its participation in the Busan Integrated Pavilion at CES 2026.

KOREALFP specializes in core materials for secondary batteries and gained international recognition at CES 2025 by winning an innovation award for the world’s first safety battery management system featuring integrated fire suppression technology.
Korinvest Group is a US investment firm focused on backing Korean startups and venture companies. Busan city officials view this deal as a breakthrough example of how regional advanced industry companies can achieve concrete results in global expansion and foreign capital attraction.
With this fresh capital, KOREALFP will push forward with US local production and supply chain expansion. Korinvest initially invested approximately $200,000 in October 2025 after recognizing KOREALFP’s strong technology foundation in secondary batteries and energy storage systems (ESS), along with its growth trajectory. The firm has now doubled down with an additional $3 million to support North American production setup, supply chain scaling, and strategic partnerships.
At CES 2026, Busan companies posted record-breaking results with 2 Best of Innovation Awards and 11 Innovation Awards, showcasing their technological prowess and innovation capacity on the global stage. CrossHub took home Best of Innovation for its blockchain-based fourth-generation hybrid identity authentication (IDBlock) technology, while StudioLab secured top honors for its intelligent filming robot GENCY Studio.
Busan Mayor Hyeong-joon Park said the investment wins and awards earned by Busan companies at CES 2026 represent visible outcomes from the city’s push to develop advanced industries and support global expansion. “We’ll keep actively backing overseas growth and foreign investment attraction for local companies with strong technology, building Busan into a global advanced industry hub.”
