TissenBioFarm, a Korean cultivated meat startup, has secured a spot in the Global TIPS program, an overseas expansion initiative run by the country’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The selection builds on Tissenbiofarm’s recent investment from Beyond Impact, a global impact investor focused on sustainable foodtech, materials, and biotechnology. Since Global TIPS requires partnerships with overseas investors, the company’s existing relationship with Beyond Impact paved the way for its acceptance into the program.
What sets Tissenbiofarm apart is its broad technological foundation. Beyond cultivated meat, the company has developed expertise across multiple cultivation platforms—animal cells, microorganisms, and plant cells. This versatility positions it to expand beyond single products into a range of applications, a factor that helped it stand out in the competitive Global TIPS selection process.
The Global TIPS selection marks a pivotal moment for the deep-tech company’s international ambitions. Tissenbiofarm plans to use the program as a launchpad to validate its technology in global markets and move toward commercialization. The company will focus on adapting its operations to meet international business standards while continuing to advance its core technology.
Moving forward, Tissenbiofarm will work through a phased approach: establishing local entities, building partnerships, and testing its business model in target markets. The strategy emphasizes understanding regional market dynamics and regulatory environments rather than rushing into expansion.
The company has been making waves recently with research showing it can achieve cell densities comparable to conventional meat—a critical technical milestone. It’s also been raising its profile at major industry events, including COMEUP, Korea’s flagship startup conference, the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA) in Singapore, and the 2025 APEC Summit Economic Exhibition in Gyeongju.
Global TIPS is designed for Korean startups with serious international traction—specifically those that have raised at least $300,000 (441 million KRW) from overseas venture capital. Selected companies receive commercialization funding, hands-on training for market entry, mentorship from experienced founders, networking opportunities, and connections to follow-on investors.
