UVify Lands $41.7M — the Biggest Single Drone Investment in Korean History

UVify, a Korean drone company with a strong global footprint, has raised $41.7 million USD (60 billion KRW) from venture capital firm CRIT Ventures and NXC, the holding company behind gaming giant Nexon. The round is the largest single investment ever made in a Korean drone company.

Founded by Hyun Lim, who holds a PhD in aerospace engineering from Seoul National University, UVify was built from the ground up with international ambitions. The company earns the bulk of its revenue overseas and was the first Korean drone firm to receive the “Ten Million Dollar Export Tower” award, a government recognition for export achievement. Today, UVify claims the top market share in drone swarm entertainment worldwide, with credits that include the Guinness World Record drone show, the Gwangalli M Drone Light Show, and aerial productions for the Netflix animated series KPOP Demon Hunters and K-pop acts G-Dragon and BLACKPINK.

Beyond the spectacle, UVify has quietly built a position at the center of the global drone technology ecosystem. It is the only Korean company to hold a seat on the board of the Dronecode Foundation, the open-source consortium that stewards the PX4 drone operating system. That seat gives UVify — and by extension, Korea — a voice in shaping international drone standards. The company is also set to play a role in national defense drone policy, including a government initiative to train 500,000 drone operators.

CRIT Ventures said the investment reflects growing global momentum behind domestic drone industries, and UVify’s ability to compete at the frontier with proprietary technology.

“UVify is a rare company that has demonstrated both the technical depth and the commercial execution to compete on the world stage,” said Dongwoo Lee, a director at CRIT Ventures. “We’re fully committed to supporting UVify as it scales into a truly global drone enterprise.”For Hyun Lim, the new capital is a springboard for UVify’s next chapter. “We’ll deepen our leadership in entertainment drone swarms while pushing our technology further — into defense applications that bring together autonomous flight and physical AI,” he said.
