Atinum Investment has committed approximately $20.98 million(KRW 30 billion) to Lunit‘s ongoing about $139.9 million(KRW 200 billion) rights offering, providing a significant anchor as the medical AI company works to shore up its financial position and accelerate global expansion.

Under the agreement, Atinum will acquire a total of 960,000 newly issued shares — comprising 85% of the subscription rights held by Lunit’s board chairman and CEO, along with rights from other executives — and will also participate in additional subscriptions to reach the KRW 30 billion total. The proceeds from the rights sales by the board chairman and CEO will be reinvested in full into the rights offering.
“Lunit has demonstrated real-world impact in the global healthcare market, built on unmatched AI capabilities,” said Jae-wook Kim, Vice President of Atinum Investment. “Acquiring the management’s subscription rights and participating in the offering reflects both our belief in responsible corporate governance and our conviction in Lunit’s long-term growth potential.”
The capital raised through the rights offering will be directed toward repaying convertible bonds issued in connection with the acquisition of Volpara — now operating as Lunit International — as well as strengthening global R&D and expanding overseas operations. The company views Atinum’s participation as a key step in stabilizing the overall fundraising process.
“Having a major VC like Atinum actively participate in a listed company’s capital raise speaks to their confidence in Lunit’s technology and market position,” said Beom-seok Seo, CEO of Lunit. “With this financing, we intend to fully resolve financial uncertainties and accelerate our momentum in global markets, fulfilling our commitment to enhancing shareholder value and sustained growth.”
Following the completion of the rights offering, Lunit plans to carry out a 1-for-1 bonus issue and continue strengthening shareholder-friendly policies.
