LetinAR Raises $19.2M Pre-IPO Round to Scale AI Smart Glasses Optical Module Business Globally
LetinAR, a South Korean developer of optical modules for AI smart glasses, has closed a pre-IPO funding round totaling approximately $19.2 million (KRW 27.8 billion), bringing its cumulative investment to over $43.1 million (KRW 62.5 billion).

The round drew participation from 16 investors, including KDB(Korea Development Bank), Daesung Private Equity, Kolon Investment, Evergreen Investment Partners, T3 Ventures, Cape Investment & Securities, Hyundai Investment Partners, Shinhan Capital, and Lotte Ventures.
Founded in 2016, LetinAR designs, develops, and manufactures optical modules — the core hardware component inside AI smart glasses. The company has achieved high efficiency and lightweight form factors compared to conventional optical modules, while securing cost competitiveness through a plastic injection-based lens structure. In 2025, LetinAR received the IR52 Jang Yeong-sil Award, one of South Korea’s top technology honors, and was designated an “Innovation Icon” company under the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund’s Scale-Up TIPS program.
LetinAR has already moved into mass production of smart glasses products in partnership with Japanese telecom giant NTT and laptop maker Dynabook, and is collaborating with Swiss AR helmet developer Aegis Rider. The company plans to use the new capital to advance optical module R&D, ramp up production capacity, and accelerate customer acquisition across China, the United States, and Europe. It is also targeting a technology-exception IPO listing in 2027.
“This pre-IPO round validates LetinAR’s unrivaled optical technology and commercial potential in the market,” said CEO Jaehyuk Kim. “We will solidify our position as an indispensable core component supplier in the global market and grow into a foundational optical infrastructure company for the AI era.”
