The Seoul-based company is building Membase, a personal memory solution designed specifically for AI agents. The platform connects conversations between users and AI with data from productivity tools such as email, Slack, and calendar applications. It aggregates project progress, work history, and personal preferences into a unified memory layer that AI systems can access in real time, enabling them to deliver responses that align with user intent and workflow context.

Users who work across multiple AI services have long faced a fragmentation problem. Each platform maintains its own memory system, forcing users to repeatedly explain their work history and decision-making processes. Aristo addresses this challenge by creating an independent memory layer that operates across different AI services. Multiple AI platforms can now share the same user context, eliminating the need for redundant input when switching between tools. Unlike simple information storage, Membase manages the relationships and context between people, projects, work history, and decision-making processes.

The company plans to use the investment to enhance memory accuracy and real-time auto-update capabilities. Product development will also focus on improving usability for non-technical users. Aristo is targeting initial user acquisition in North America and aims to expand into B2B offerings, including team-level memory sharing and memory APIs for AI agent developers.

The founding team demonstrated its technical capabilities at a Claude Code hackathon directly judged by an Anthropic co-founder, building an MVP in three hours and finishing second. The company has also attracted attention from the global AI community, with Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan engaging with Membase-related posts on X.

“A memory layer that connects fragmented contexts and retains them accurately will become essential infrastructure for the AI agent era,” said Youngmu Kim, Investment Manager at Kakao Ventures. “Aristo has the potential to lead the AI memory market, backed by exceptional product execution and a deep understanding of the global AI ecosystem.”

“For AI to become a true personal assistant, the ability to remember and accurately utilize user context is critical,” said Shinhyuk Hwang, CEO of Aristo Intelligence. “We aim to establish a new standard for AI memory infrastructure and open an era where everyone can have their own personal AI assistant.”
