SAZO, an agentic AI-based cross-border commerce startup, announced on June 25 that it has secured a new investment from Naver D2SF. The investment amount was not disclosed.

SAZO has developed cross-border commerce infrastructure where AI agents automatically handle the entire purchasing process—from predicting shipping costs and customs duties to translation, pricing, payment, and customs clearance. International purchases have traditionally suffered from conversion challenges, as consumers cannot accurately determine final shipping and customs costs until checkout, while language, currency, and customs regulations vary by country. SAZO addresses these pain points by predicting shipping costs, customs duties, and fees with approximately 95% accuracy, enabling AI agents to autonomously manage the entire transaction process so consumers can purchase overseas products as seamlessly as domestic shopping.
The company operates cross-border services connecting Korea and Japan, achieving approximately seven-fold growth in monthly transaction volume over the past six months. SAZO has secured partnerships with domestic and international commerce platforms including Mercari, Rakuten, and Bungaejangter. In 2025, the startup received strategic investment from Japanese VCs, including Japan Post Capital, the venture capital arm of Japan Post Group.
Currently operating in Korea, the United States, and Japan, SAZO plans to expand its service coverage to build a global cross-border agentic commerce infrastructure.
Sanghwan Yang, Head of Naver D2SF, stated that SAZO is currently in discussions with Naver Shopping on various collaboration opportunities, expressing expectations that the partnership will provide users with more convenient overseas shopping experiences while offering sellers and creators opportunities to expand their international sales channels.
