South Korean humanoid robotics startup Holiday Robotics has closed a Series A round of roughly $103.4 million (KRW 155 billion), marking the largest Series A ever raised by a Korean startup and the largest single round secured by a domestic humanoid robot specialist to date. The company said the round reflects strong investor confidence in both the growth potential of the humanoid robotics market and its own technology.

The round drew heavy participation from existing backers Stonebridge Ventures, Atinum Investment, Intervest, and Springcamp, alongside a large group of new investors including IMM Investment, SL Investment, KB Investment, BonAngels Venture Partners, Premier Partners, Ulmus Investment, SJ Investment Partners, Dasung Ventures, Atinum Capital Partners, and Goodwater Capital. Financial institutions KDB(Korea Development Bank) and IBK(Industrial Bank of Korea) also joined the round, giving the company a broader base to tap for future growth capital.
Holiday Robotics is a physical AI company founded by a CEO who previously built industrial AI vision company Sualab in 2013 and led its transformation of manufacturing inspection before its acquisition. Drawing on that manufacturing AI experience, the company is now working to automate factory floors with humanoid robots.
The startup currently runs a team of about 50 researchers and engineers across research and business development, drawing talent from MIT, Seoul National University, KAIST, and Samsung Electronics who are steering both product development and commercialization.
Its flagship product, FRIDAY, is a humanoid robot purpose-built for manufacturing environments. Standing 176 cm tall and weighing 115 kg, the wheeled mobile manipulator has 64 degrees of freedom spread across its head, arms, hands, waist, and wheels. FRIDAY combines precise hand manipulation, high-sensitivity tactile sensors, and autonomous mobility, and is designed to work alongside humans on repetitive tasks in manufacturing settings while remaining commercially viable for real-world deployment.
Holiday Robotics is preparing for mass production ahead of a planned commercial launch of FRIDAY in the second half of this year. It aims to reach an annual production capacity of 100 units in 2026 to supply early customers, then scale to 1,000 units annually in 2027 as it expands humanoid adoption across the manufacturing sector. The company is currently running confidential proof-of-concept trials with major domestic and international companies in automotive, semiconductor, and logistics — industries with high volumes of repetitive tasks — as it works toward commercial deployment in real industrial settings later this year.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to upgrade its mass-production systems and grow its R&D headcount to more than 100 people. It also intends to build manufacturing infrastructure capable of producing more than 10,000 units annually, and to expand beyond manufacturing into service robots and home robots over time. In the near term, Holiday Robotics has set a goal of bringing the unit price down to around $66,700 (KRW 100 million) through large-scale production.
“This investment reflects the market’s recognition that humanoid robots can create real economic value on industrial sites,” said Ki-young Song, CEO of Holiday Robotics. “We’ll first prove the practical utility of humanoid robots by successfully commercializing them in manufacturing settings, and in the long run, we aim to grow into one of the world’s top 10 robotics companies.”
