Cyera Raises $400M Goldman Sachs Extension to Its Series G

AI agents are becoming the enterprise’s new workforce. They’re also its fastest-growing security risk. Unlike people or ordinary software, agents reason on their own, carry identities, call tools, and reach sensitive data, taking action at machine speed. The more access an agent has, the more useful it is — and the more dangerous it becomes if that access is ever compromised or misused. The security architecture most enterprises run today was built to protect people and applications, not millions of autonomous actors.

Cyera Raises $400M Goldman Sachs Extension to Its Series G

Cyera, an Israeli data security company, is trying to close that gap by bringing data and identity together under one system. Cyera started in data security posture management (DSPM) — mapping where sensitive data lives and who can reach it — then acquired data-loss-prevention startup Trail Security and non-human-identity (NHI) specialist Otterize, before adding Oasis Security to the mix this July to extend into identity management. Its newer products, Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint, track not just an AI agent’s prompts and responses but the tool calls and database queries in between, from the cloud down to endpoint devices running local agents like Claude Code and Cursor. The goal is a single platform governing access for every human, machine, and AI agent at once. Customers including Paramount, Chipotle, and Valvoline already use it to control what their AI can reach.

Co-founder and CEO Yotam Segev and co-founder and CTO Tamar Bar-Ilan built and ran the cloud security division of Israel’s elite Unit 8200 together before founding Cyera, and both are alumni of Talpiot, the country’s top military technology fellowship. Since founding the company in 2021, Cyera’s valuation has roughly doubled every six months — from $3 billion in November 2024 to $6 billion in June 2025, $9 billion that December, and $12 billion this past June. Wowtale has covered that run in its Series D, Blackstone round, Evolution Equity round, and Oasis acquisition coverage.

Cyera said it has raised $400 million from Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, an extension to the Series G that Evolution Equity led back in June. The valuation holds at $12 billion, unchanged from that round. It’s Goldman’s first direct investment in the company.

CEO Segev said: “Global 2000 enterprises are telling us the same thing: they need to trust what AI agents can see and do before they can scale them. AI infrastructure is moving faster than the security architecture around it.” Irit Kahan, Managing Director within Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, said: “Securing AI will be one of the defining categories in enterprise technology over the next decade. Cyera was the first to bring data and identity together, and as agents multiply faster than anyone can track, the gap between what they’re trusted to do and what they can actually reach is becoming increasingly dangerous. Cyera’s technology, customer traction, and execution position it to become the platform enterprises rely on to secure AI.”

The funding will go toward Cyera’s AI security product roadmap, deeper expansion into the U.S. federal market, and international growth across EMEA and APAC.

The competitive set in data security posture management includes Varonis, Securiti, and BigID. Varonis, founded in 2005, has more revenue — over $500 million — but a lower valuation at $3.85 billion. Wiz, once the category’s biggest unicorn, was acquired by Google for $32 billion last year in the largest cybersecurity M&A deal on record — a deal that also pushed core Wiz customers like OpenAI and Google’s own rivals toward “neutral” data-security partners instead. Cyberhaven, focused on data-loss prevention, has also grown quickly into unicorn status off a Series C.
