Connecteve Secures $3M funding for AI in Musculoskeletal Software and Surgical Robotics

Connecteve, a South Korean medical software and surgical robotics firm, secured a KRW 4 billion($3 million) pre-series A investment. Led by DSC Investment, with participation from Stonebridge Ventures, Schmidt, and ReVentures, the total investment in the company now stands at KRW 4.8 billion.

Connecteve plans to use the funds to expand its team for developing next-gen surgical robots and to seek medical device approval for AI-based musculoskeletal interpretation software.

Leveraging data labeled by specialist physicians in university hospitals, Connecteve has developed high-quality AI technology. The company was selected for Korea’s popular deep tech program, DeepTech TIPS, last year. It also engaged in joint research and development with Seoul National University Hospital for the development of a patient-doctor shared decision-making model and a pilot research project.

Connecteve’s CEO, No Doo-hyun, stated, “The global population with musculoskeletal conditions exceeds 500 million, and the annual musculoskeletal X-rays taken are over 200 million in Korea alone, leading to a surge in social costs and losses due to joint diseases.” He added, “We aim to provide a groundbreaking solution that enhances the accuracy of artificial joint surgeries up to 95% with AI-based interpretation software and next-gen surgical robots, simultaneously improving efficiency for both hospitals and patients.”
