Korean startup ZIKIDA, which provides privacy compliance solutions, has secured seed funding. The investment was led by Grand Ventures, VNTG, TheVentures, and The Yoonmin Foundation. ZIKIDA offers an online compliance solution that enables companies and institutions to monitor and manage their compliance with personal data protection laws in real-time. Founder Jin-hwan Kim, a recognized expert in data protection law, has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer at KIM & CHANG.
Jung-kyu Han, Managing Partner at Grand Ventures, said, “Data protection laws apply to nearly all businesses today, with frequent updates to regulations and guidelines. Violations can lead to significant financial penalties, making this a crucial business risk for management. ZIKIDA’s rule-based system, enhanced by artificial intelligence, provides a level of accuracy comparable to professional legal advice. We see great potential in ZIKIDA’s product and business model, particularly in terms of its distinctiveness, scalability, and global expansion prospects.”
ZIKIDA’s solution is very user-friendly. Compliance officers at companies or institutions simply need to join ZIKIDA and answer the checklist provided by the platform. Based on their responses, the system dynamically adjusts up to 1,000 checklist items, offering a customized questionnaire. Once completed, it immediately indicates the compliance status of individual items as ‘compliant,’ ‘recommended,’ or ‘non-compliant,’ providing a compliance diagnosis and suggestions for improvement.
Jin-hwan Kim, the founder, stated, “This investment has laid a solid foundation for ZIKIDA’s stable growth. We plan to launch an upgraded version of our service with advanced LLM technology soon. This upgrade will allow customers to upload documents like consent forms and policies to instantly check for compliance and obtain improvement suggestions, maximizing user convenience. We are committed to becoming a leading company that seamlessly combines expert systems and AI technology in the compliance field, following our established technology roadmap.”
