AIM Intelligence, a Korea-based developer of the generative AI security and automated vulnerability detection solution “AIM Red,” has secured seed funding from Mashup Ventures.
“AIM Red” is a security performance evaluation solution designed specifically for generative AI, automating the creation of attack prompts to support red teams (security experts who simulate hacking attempts to identify vulnerabilities). Recently, the company also launched “AIM Guard,” which provides real-time detection and defense against generative AI vulnerabilities.
AIM Intelligence was founded by a team from Seoul National University’s integrated master’s and Ph.D. program in Electrical and Information Engineering, led by CEO Sangyun Yoo. The team is composed of AI specialists. They founded the company to address the limitations in the use of generative AI due to security concerns and to develop a middleware solution that ensures both model-level security and the freedom to implement services.
AIM Intelligence has collaborated with major Korean companies, such as Naver D2SF, SKT-Hana Bank AI Lab, and KT, who are interested in building generative AI security systems. Recently, the company was also recognized for its expertise, winning the Meta Llama Impact Innovation Award, organized by Meta.
Sangyun Yoo, CEO of AIM Intelligence, said, “With this investment, we plan to gather more attack prompts to further enhance our security diagnostic system. As AI technology advances and security threats become more complex, we aim to create safety guardrails to protect against future vulnerabilities.”
Eunwoo Park, a partner at Mashup Ventures who led the investment, commented, “As AI technology continues to advance, issues like deepfake misuse are emerging as serious societal problems. Given this, we anticipate a growing demand for security solutions tailored to generative AI, which is why we made this investment.”
