InceraSolution Raises KRW 3.3 Billion to Lead LEO Satellite Communication Innovations

Korea-based InceraSolution, which develops high-performance FSMs (Fast & Fine Steering Mirrors)—key devices for future laser-based space optical communications and advanced defense systems—has secured KRW 3.3 billion in pre-Series A funding.

Investors in this round include Daekyo Investment, INNOPOLIS Partners, L&S Venture Capital, and Solid X. This follows a KRW 300 million seed investment from JB Ventures received in February, marking an additional investment just eight months later.

Recently, major global telecommunications companies, led by SpaceX’s Starlink, have started adopting or planning laser-based inter-satellite connection technology for LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite communication services. In South Korea, a KRW 320 billion feasibility study for LEO satellite communication technology development was approved in May, with project implementation planned for 2025.

Inter-satellite connection is a core technology for LEO satellite communications, requiring satellites separated by hundreds to thousands of kilometers to communicate via laser. The FSM is a critical device for implementing PAT (Pointing, Acquisition, and Tracking)—the most technically challenging aspect of inter-satellite connections.

FSMs for LEO satellite communications must achieve high levels of precision and accuracy while also being highly resistant to shocks during launch and operation. Globally, only a few companies are capable of producing FSMs that meet these strict requirements, and no such company currently exists in South Korea.

Leveraging its deep expertise and strong execution capabilities, InceraSolution has begun participating in LEO satellite communication projects in South Korea by developing high-performance FSMs that meet rigorous market demands, with the goal of expanding globally.

Additionally, various laser-based advanced defense systems—including laser air defense weapons and laser detection and targeting systems—are being rapidly developed, all of which require high-performance FSMs. This positions InceraSolution to further expand its business areas.

Young-Kwan Kwon, CEO of InceraSolution, stated, “We are grateful to the investors who believe in our technology and growth potential. As the only company in South Korea producing FSMs, we plan to develop products that meet diverse client needs, including space certification, within the next two years. We will continue focusing on advancing our product development.”
