WARP SPACE, the Korean startup behind AI character chat platform Caveduck, has closed a USD 2.85M (KRW 4.3 billion) Series A round.

ID Ventures led the round, with Kona Venture Partners, Maple Investment Partners, and Paramount Investment participating.
Caveduck is a platform where anyone can create their own AI character and users can chat with those characters freely. Creators earn revenue based on the popularity of their characters, turning creative work into a direct income stream. The platform currently has more than 10,000 active creators per month, logs over 30 million conversations monthly, and has surpassed one million registered users. More than 60% of its user base is international, reflecting meaningful global traction from early on.
“The AI character chat market is still in its early stages and is expected to grow rapidly on a global scale,” said Seongyong Park, team lead at ID Ventures, in a statement. “Unlike other platforms in the space, Caveduck has already built an ecosystem where creators make characters and connect with users — and we believe it can deliver a highly immersive experience.”
WARP SPACE plans to put the funding to work on two fronts: deepening its core AI capabilities and accelerating international expansion. On the product side, the company will optimize its AI to make character conversations feel more natural and immersive. On the market side, it will push localization and marketing efforts into key overseas markets. The company is also expanding its team, with a focus on hiring AI engineers and growth marketers.
“The fact that more than 60% of our users are from outside Korea shows that Caveduck has a universal appeal that crosses language and culture,” said Youngbin Kim, CEO of WARP SPACE. “We’re going to use this investment as a springboard to grow into a global platform that delivers the best possible experience for both creators and users.”
